Position Overview:The Development Wizard will direct the coordination and implementation of Old Library Studio's fundraising activities. Essential Functions: Fundraising Responsibilities Manage the development program to achieve Old Library Studio's strategic goals. Engage in ongoing cultivation and solicitation of individual and corporate donors. Responsible for developing a detailed fundraising plan and maintaining a master calendar of appeals, fundraising events, and donor recognition activities. Ensure gifts are properly acknowledged, documented, and entered into the donor database. Coordinate and provide support for the fundraising efforts of staff, board, and volunteers. Host facility tours of Old Library Studio. Attend board meetings as needed. Event Responsibilities Oversee all Old Library Studio events, including the Old Library Studio’ Jazz De Hollywood fundraising dinner and auction, assuring success and growth of event revenues, attendance and overall value. Qualifications: Commitment to giving creative teens a place to make music! Ability to build and maintain quality relationships. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience with e-newsletters, online fundraising resources, as well as more traditional solicitations. Creativity and experience in designing, coordinating and evaluating development programs. Experience running annual campaigns and major gift campaigns preferred. A college degree, plus two to five years fundraising experience in the non-profit sector (paid preferred, volunteer experience considered on a case-by-case basis), or commensurate experience in a related sector required. Experience working with donor relational databases, and using common office software applications. Extra Points (some skills which are worth mentioning): Strong computer skills. Graphic design skills. Experience in marketing or media relations. Musicianship or multimedia production experience. Network of personal contacts in any of the following areas: Local Business, Local Media, Local or National Music or Entertainment Industry, Portland Arts Community, Regional Philanthropists who support Arts or Education. Experience relevant to the services Old Library Studio provides (music, music technology, arts, education).
